Emotional Wellbeing and Dementia

Dealing with changes can be difficult for any one of us. We may find it challenging in navigating changes in our health status, support networks and, at times, living arrangements.

Have to move the house? What the heck! New oven is digital - how does it work? And, what do you mean my closest friend is now 2000 km away?

These times will require us to adapt new coping strategies which can be tricky, and even trickier for those impacted by memory loss.

As you know, dementia is not all about memory loss but we seem to be more comfortable in discussing this feature of the disease. Emotional wellbeing and changes in how we respond need more of our attention. Individuals who have dementia may feel less able to control their feelings and how to express them but retain the same emotional needs now that they did before the onset of dementia.

In response to this, in 2023 I have developed a brand new full day workshop on this topic, called "Emotional Wellbeing and Dementia"

Check out below all the details about this training and how you can join a full day of fun and learning, regardless where you are based.

Join me for a full day of connecting with other like minded professionals and learning  online.

Our most popular workshop of 2023, Emotional Wellbeing + Dementia, will be LIVE on Friday 1 September 2023 from 9 am to 4 pm AEST.

I'M JULIE.

Most would describe me as a, mother, wife, aged care psychologist and small business owner. But in reality, I am so much more than that. And so are you.

Society may put us in boxes according to our occupation, job title, relationship status and life stage, but that doesn't mean we have to stay there as in reality how we work and the clients we support are so diverse.

So, join me on a journey of learning latest evidence-based strategies on engagement, particularly when cognitive changes impact those we support and increase the risk of isolation, withdrawal and disconnection whilst promoting our own health and wellbeing.

"I really liked the opportunity to hear from other participants. The format of the slides was good, as well as the references. I liked the opportunity for self-reflection at the end".

"Really good and useful content. These are strategies I can use with my clients straight away".
